In 2015, I finally understood why I kept ending up with emotionally unavailable men.

I could trace the whole thing in one sitting.

Where it started, why it started, how it had been playing out in every relationship.

Feeling inadequate, unworthy, not enough. I thought it started somewhere back in childhood, and every man since had just been proving it right.

I thought that was the hard part. I thought once you can name it that clearly, you’re basically free.

It took me 10 more years to actually change how I chose a partner.

Ten years of still being pulled toward the same kind of man.

Still explaining away the same red flags.

Still knowing, in real time, exactly what I was doing and why, and doing it anyway.

Insight is when you finally understand why you do it. Healing is when you stop.

Nobody tells you those are two different things.

We’ve gotten so good at understanding ourselves. We can name our attachment style, trace a pattern back three generations, quote the exact moment it started.

And so many of us are still living inside the pattern we can explain perfectly.

Here’s what I didn’t know in 2015.

Understanding happens in the mind. Changing happens somewhere else, somewhere talking about it can’t always reach.

For me, a big piece of it was entanglement.

Feelings that weren’t fully mine to begin with, loyalties to women who came before me that I carried without ever knowing I was carrying them.

That’s the part constellations does differently.

If you’ve ever been the person who can explain her own pattern in her sleep and still can’t stop living it, I want you to hear this: you weren’t doing it wrong.

Understanding was never going to be enough on its own. It’s just not where the change happens.

I’ve had quite a few clients coming to me with this issue recently.

Some of them in their 40s, who never had a serious relationship, never had anything stable, and never really understood why.

Because it genuinely didn’t make sense to them why it never worked out, especially when everything else in their lives seemed to be going so well.

These were successful women, with great careers, with everything falling into place in pretty much every other area of their lives, except this one.

And there’s a real sadness in that, in not understanding why the one thing you want most keeps not happening.

Some of them would say they could never fully connect with anyone.

Others would say their partners simply wouldn’t commit.

Or that they just hadn’t found the right person yet.

But here’s the thing.

Sometimes staying single, or not being able to connect with a partner, or never quite finding that stability, is not about you.

Sometimes, somewhere in your lineage, somebody never got to love.

Maybe someone lost a fiancé or a husband to war.

Maybe a grandmother was widowed young.

Maybe somebody died before they ever got the chance to feel love.

These people were excluded, and often forgotten, and their story was never spoken about, or maybe not even known by the rest of the family.

But the family system does not forget.

The system is always looking to balance itself, and it will find somebody else down the line to carry the same feelings, the same experience, until somebody finally stops and looks at it.

In constellations, we call this entanglement.

When you end up living a fate that was never yours, out of loyalty to someone who came before you.

And what we do in this work is bring those loyalties to light, and with love, we release them, so that what was never truly yours to carry can finally be given back.

Constellations show us the unconscious patterns we’ve been living inside without even knowing it.

They help us release burdens we’ve been carrying that were never ours to carry, patterns passed down from our lineage.

They help us find our place in our family.

They open us to love our ancestors, and to receive the support that’s been there for us all along.

So yes, constellations help. A lot.

But the door being open doesn’t mean we’ve flown.

When we come back to our real life, we still have a choice. We can stay in the same patterns.

Or we can take what we saw, what we felt, what we understood and actually live it.

That means setting the boundary we saw we needed.

Changing the pattern we recognized.

Choosing, again and again, to do it differently.

Because if we don’t, we fall right back into the cage.

Even with the door wide open.

Și dacă nu erai tu, sincer, nu știu ce m-aș fi făcut. N-o să pot niciodată să îți mulțumesc suficient. Sper ca te-am făcut mândră. Am înrămat poza asta, să mă uit la ea când mi-e dor. Și mi-e dor. Astăzi nu mai pot să spun “Mă duc la mătuși-mea” deși aș da orice să mai stăm de vorbă pentru câteva ore în bucătăria ta, cu o cafea și o țigară. Să-ți spun despre viața mea și să-mi dai sfaturi. Nu m-aș mai sătura sa te aud. Nici măcar nu mai fumez, dar astăzi voi face o cafea și voi aprinde o țigară să te sărbătoresc. Nu să plâng, ci doar să îi mulțumesc cerului ca am avut norocul să te am în viața mea. Si de acolo de unde ești, sunt sigură ca vei aprinde și tu o țigară cerească și ne întâlnim undeva la mijloc. La mulți ani, Țuca! Te iubesc.

A lot of people are afraid to do constellations in a group setting and prefer individual work, because they don’t feel safe enough to show their most vulnerable selves in front of a group of strangers.

But something my client said in the workshop today felt so important that I wanted to share it.

She told us that the reason she loves group work so much is that it shows us how much of our pain and our wounds are the same.

It shows us that we are more similar than we are different and that it’s more healing to work on those wounds in a group setting, where you have the support of the people around you.

The way I smile and show up as my full self in this photo, and in life in general, got me thinking.

A few years back, when I was starting my corporate career, a colleague told me I should smile more often.

That I never smiled.

That she’d actually been afraid to approach me because I always seemed so serious.

Then we were put on a project together, and once she discovered the kind of person I really am, she said something I never forgot:

“Who you are doesn’t match what you’re projecting before someone gets to know you.”

At the time, I never smiled. I was tense. Stressed. There was a lot of bottled up anger, sadness and grief. A lot of aggressiveness, self-defense and mistrust.

I was carrying so much for my family. From both sides. Many burdens, a lot of unprocessed trauma, a lot of repeating patterns. I didn’t know it then, but I know it now.

This was before I started my healing journey.

Now I see myself smiling like this in photos. And not just in photos.

There’s a lightness to my day to day that I didn’t have before. A feeling of peace that is now my baseline. A feeling of gratitude for everything I have and everything I am.

The contrast with how I used to be is enormous.

It’s been about ten years since I got that feedback, and in that time I feel like I’ve had at least 5 life-changing moments, normally after a constellation, that became before-and-after points.

I’m such a different person than I was back then.

Of course there are still ups and downs, but when they come, I trust I have it in me to handle anything.

I know I have the strength and resilience to go through anything. And I know I can process any feeling. The ups and downs don’t disrupt my life like they once did.

The anxiety that feels like yours.

Epigenetics is showing us something remarkable: trauma gets written into the body, passed down through generations in ways science is only now beginning to understand.

The mice who feared cherry blossoms because their fathers were shocked near them.

The grandchildren of Holocaust survivors carrying stress hormones they had no reason to have.

The patterns that repeat in families across generations.

What family constellation healers have witnessed for over 40 years at the level of the soul, science is now confirming at the level of the cell.

And what’s important is that this is not a life sentence.

The fact that these patterns were inherited means they were never truly yours.

They belonged to someone who lived through something they didn’t have the tools or the safety to process.

And without knowing it, you’ve been carrying it for them.

There is something incredibly freeing about that realisation.

Because what was passed down can also be set down.

Destiny is what we choose to do with all of that.

We could decide to remain victims for the rest of our lives, living small, afraid and protective, never really going for the things we truly desire, never fully living.

Or we could decide to heal our inner children, to release and let go of the burdens we carry from our ancestors and our lineage.

We can decide that we are the last ones, and that it ends with us.

We can decide to accept our parents’ love, as much or as little as it was.

We can decide to open fully to the gift of life, and to make the most of what we do have, instead of focusing on everything that was not provided, everything we didn’t get, all the needs that were not met.

the pain we’re already carrying is often much heavier than the pain it takes to change a habit or start something new.

And other areas that feel harder.

For me, it’s always been easy to work on my career and my healing. But I struggled with my physical health.

So I continued to invest time and efforts in getting better in my career and avoided and postponed taking care of my body.

We all tend to stay where it feels familiar.

We keep investing in what comes easy
and avoid what challenges us.

That’s why so many people avoid therapy.

And honestly, it’s the same reason I avoided the gym for so long.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

The thing you resist the most
often holds the biggest gift for you.

That conversation.
That healing.
That part of your life you’ve been avoiding
because it feels too much, too deep, too uncomfortable.

Because once you begin…
the sense of relief, the lightness, the confidence that builds…

They are so, so worth it. ✨

In the upcoming Family Constellations workshops, we will gather in a safe space for a full-day constellation experience.

Together, we will:

🌿 Hold space for 4–5 constellations, each focusing on a participant’s personal theme

🌿 Witness and take part in powerful healing as representatives

🌿 Experience clarity, release, and a deeper sense of belonging, whether you constellate or simply join the circle
