In intimate relationship, we meet not only the person in front of us, but everything we carry behind us.

Our family. Our unfinished loyalties. Our old survival strategies. The places where we still feel small.

When love feels intense, reactive, overwhelming, it is often something older moving through us.

The beauty is this: they are not creating it. They are merely shedding light on it.

When we gently ask,

What in me is being touched right now?
Is this about today, or is it older?

Something shifts.

We take back what is ours.
We return what never belonged to us.

Being a representative in someone else’s constellation is a very special experience.

It is not random. It is not accidental.

When you step into a role, you are not acting.

You are simply allowing your body to respond to something that wants to be seen.

If our heart says

❤️‍🩹 “You didn’t love me enough,” or

❤️‍🩹 “You weren’t who I needed you to be,”

we are, in some way, saying no to our mother and, with that, no to the flow of life itself.

Bert Hellinger expressed this simply:

✨ “The movement toward the mother is the movement toward life.” ✨

When that movement is interrupted by trauma, abandonment, rejection, emotional distance, or a painful history, we often become stuck.

We may find ourselves judging our mother, carrying her pain, or trying to be strong where we were meant to be held.

In subtle ways, we turn away from her, and from what came through her to us.

But when we bow inwardly to our mother, something sacred begins to shift.

When we say:

✨ “You are my mother. I am your child. You gave me life, and I will take it fully, with all that came with it,” ✨

we realign ourselves with the current of life.

We don’t have to approve of her choices.

We don’t have to agree with her.

But when we can take her just as she is, and just as she was, we move closer to inner peace.

🧚‍♀️ Beyond the personal, this movement is archetypal. The mother also represents the Feminine: the creative, intuitive, nourishing force of life.

When we carry resentment toward our mother, we often resist what the Feminine offers us: ease, rest, receptivity, nourishment.

We may overwork.
We may control.
We may distrust softness or beauty.

Without realizing it, life becomes something we push through rather than something that meets us.

When we begin to see this, a new movement becomes possible. Not fixing the past. Not rewriting her story. Simply turning toward what was given, exactly as it came.

And this inner turning can sound as simple as a sentence:

✨ “Mother, I will take your love as it is, without judging it and without expecting it to be different.” ✨

Once we make peace with our mother, we become more able to:

❤️ Receive love and support

❤️ Say yes to joy, money, and healthy relationships

❤️ Walk our path with humility and strength

❤️ Step into adulthood without blame or waiting for permission

When we make peace with the one who gave us life, we are finally free to live it 🤍

By taking on their burdens, we place ourselves above them.

We make ourselves bigger than our ancestors, even though this happens without awareness.

And when we step into this position, life can no longer flow freely through us.

Instead of facing forward toward our own life, we turn backward toward the past.

I’ve always found it difficult to put Family Constellations into words.

I often say that it’s something you need to experience in order to really understand.

But what I can share is this:

Family Constellations work with transgenerational trauma.

With the unconscious patterns, emotions and burdens we carry from our family system and our lineage.

But when we do, we don’t just reject the other. We also limit the flow of love in our own lives.

Take our mother, for example.

If we look to her for love and she is only able to offer 15% of her love, then our work is not to demand the other 85%.

Our work is to open our heart and fully receive the 15% that is available.

Crazy, right? 🤯

It might be counterintuitive, but when we truly acknowledge what is instead of fighting what isn’t, we allow the flow of love to expand.

Each of us has our own definition of what love is and how it’s expressed.

And when love doesn’t come in the form we expect, want, or need, it’s easy to turn away from it. 🙅‍♀️

But when we do, we don’t just reject the other. We also limit the flow of love in our own lives.

Take our mother, for example.

If we look to her for love and she is only able to offer 15% of her love, then our work is not to demand the other 85%.

Our work is to open our heart and fully receive the 15% that is available.

The next day, I signed up for a family constellations training.

And here I am.

Out of all the roles I’ve had over the years, and I’ve had many, being a constellator is the one that feels most aligned with who I am and the one that brings me the most joy.

Funerals are not just the act of burying someone.

They are rites of passage - sacred thresholds that help us mark an ending, honor a life, and allow the soul to move on.

In many traditions and religions, there are rituals for each stage: how we spend the last days with someone, how we bury them, and how we honor them after they’ve passed.

Each step has a purpose.

It allows us to fully acknowledge not only the life, but also the death of the person. It helps their soul cross to the other side.

And it helps us begin to grieve and to understand that they are no longer physically here, and yet still with us in another way.

But many of us didn’t get to experience this.

When we were children, the adults in our life often decided that we were too young to bear the pain.

We weren’t allowed to go to the funeral.

Sometimes, they even lied to us about what happened.

And yet, even when we’re very young, we feel that something has changed.

And if the person who passed was someone we were deeply connected to, being kept away from saying goodbye can create a block.

Because when children are not allowed to attend funerals, they are not given a chance to fully say goodbye.

They cannot truly accept that someone they loved will not return.

And that unexpressed grief can become stuck and linger in the body, quietly shaping how we love, how we let go, how we move through life.

In systemic work, we know that what is not seen doesn’t disappear — it waits. It waits for completion. It waits for the chance to be acknowledged and included.

So if someone in your family passes away and you have small children, please don’t lie to them.

Tell them the truth in a way they can understand.

Explain what death is, simply, honestly, and allow them to say goodbye in their own way.

And if you were once that child who wasn’t allowed to say goodbye, know that it’s not too late.

The goodbye you needed can still happen now. And constellations can help with that.

Sometimes, we find ourselves haunted by recurring dreams - dreams of war, of danger, or of someone we don’t recognize, yet who feels deeply familiar.

These dreams can carry a strange weight, as if they’re not just coming from our own psyche, but from somewhere deeper.

In Family Constellations, we understand that our dreams can be messengers.

They don’t always make sense to the logical mind, but they speak the language of the soul.

And sometimes, they are the only way our ancestors can reach us.

When a certain person appears in your dreams again and again, someone you don’t know, yet feel connected to, it’s worth listening.

The subconscious often carries what the family system cannot express.

What has been left out, excluded, or forgotten in previous generations may try to return through dreams.

Especially when there has been war, migration, or unprocessed trauma in the lineage.

In a constellation, we can explore these dreams with reverence.

Not by analyzing them, but by letting the field show us what wants to be seen.

When a romantic relationship ends, especially in heartbreak or conflict, it’s so easy for our minds to fixate on what went wrong.

We reframe the past through the lens of pain, and sometimes we end up turning someone we once loved into a villain in our story.

But here’s something we rarely talk about.

If we once chose that person, if we loved them, lived with them, married them, or had children with them, then there must have been goodness in them, too.

Especially if you have a child with someone.

At some point, you thought they were good enough.

Your heart said: “This is the one. This is who I trust to bring life into the world with me.”

That is sacred.

And what we don’t close with love, we carry forward.

The anger, frustration, bitterness, even hate that remains in us toward a former partner doesn’t just stay locked in the past.

It leaks into the present. And future.

We bring it, consciously or not, into our current partnership or our next one.

We carry the burden of what was unresolved.

And the pieces of our soul that stayed stuck in that story? They remain missing.

We don’t show up fully. Not for ourselves, and not for the ones we love now.

So instead of denying the past, we can try something different.

We can honor what was good, even if the relationship ended.

Today is my Name Day ✨

It’s the day we celebrate Archangels Michael and Gabriel.

And I happen to be named Mihaela Gabriela.

Having this name was not the plan… it kinda just happened.

But I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

I’ve always felt that names carry energy and the fact that I carry the names of the two greatest Archangels, the protectors and guides of humanity, feels like a reflection of what my life was always going to be about.

🪽 Archangel Michael holds the masculine energy: strength, protection, and clarity.

He is the guardian of light, the one who cuts through illusion and fear, the one who reminds us of our power and helps us stand in truth.

His presence brings direction when we feel lost, courage when we feel small, and safety when life feels uncertain.

🪽 Archangel Gabriel carries the feminine: intuition, nurturing, and inspiration.

She is the messenger of divine truth, the gentle voice that speaks through our hearts, guiding us toward creation, birth, and expression.

Her energy is soft but powerful, it helps us trust our inner knowing, speak our truth with love, and create from a place of flow rather than force.

For most of my life, I’ve lived more from my Mihaela side, embodying that masculine energy of doing, leading, protecting, and achieving.

But in recent years, I’ve been learning to open more to my Gabriela, to soften into trust, to receive rather than control, to create from inspiration instead of effort.

Family Constellations is a sacred process, and like any deep healing work, it only gives out what you put in.

✨ Constellations don’t work when a client is not ready to face the truth that the field reveals.

The work moves us toward what is, not what we wish things were.

If there’s too much resistance to seeing that truth, the constellation can’t unfold.

The energy doesn’t move.

Sometimes, we have to close the constellation, because the client is not yet ready to take the next step.

And that’s okay. The field will never force us. It only meets us where we are.

✨ They don’t work when there’s a refusal to take responsibility.

If someone expects the constellation to fix everything like a spiritual quick-fix, without engaging in their own inner work, they may be disappointed.

This work is not about outsourcing healing.

✨ Constellations also don’t work when a person is still caught in blaming others, especially their parents.

As long as we hold on to resentment, we’re not in the right position to receive the life that was given to us.

✨ Another reason constellations may not work is when a client intellectualizes the process, analyzing every image instead of allowing the field to speak directly to the body and soul.

The work unfolds beyond the mind.

It is not something to be “understood” as much as felt, integrated, and honored.

✨And finally, sometimes the healing simply happens later.

A constellation may seem incomplete or confusing at first but something shifts quietly beneath the surface.

Some clients feel the effects weeks or even months later, when a situation resolves, a relationship softens, or a new insight emerges without warning.

For years, I couldn’t get over a relationship. No matter how much time passed, no matter what I tried, something inside me just wouldn’t let go.

What I discovered through Family Constellations was that it had nothing to do with that person at all.

The “bond” I thought I had with them was really a reflection of my own unhealed relationship with my mom.

I used to feel like no matter what I did, I couldn’t win. Either I couldn’t reach the success I wanted, or when I had it, I couldn’t enjoy it.

Unprocessed trauma doesn’t stay stuck in the past.

It ripples through time.

What you refuse to feel, your children may carry in their bodies.

What you deny, your grandchildren may live out without understanding why.

These inherited burdens show up as anxiety, depression, disconnection, or repeating patterns in love, work, and health.

But here’s the thing: you also carry strength, resilience, courage.

And you get to choose what becomes part of your legacy.

You can be the one who breaks the cycle.

Who turns toward the pain, not away from it.

Who meets the past with compassion so the future can breathe a little easier.

When you do this work, when you face what’s been avoided for generations, you don’t just heal yourself.

This conflict sends him on a magical journey into the Land of the Dead during the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), where he meets his ancestors and uncovers the hidden truths of his family history.

Miguel’s journey reflects a core principle of Family Constellations: that unresolved trauma or suppressed truths in a family system can be passed down through generations.

Miguel doesn’t consciously know why music is forbidden—but the ban is rooted in a misunderstood family story.

Like many of us, he carries the emotional consequences of something unspoken or misinterpreted from the past.

In Family Constellations, healing often happens when the true place of each person in the family system is acknowledged and honored.

In Coco, the healing begins when the forgotten ancestor—Héctor—is seen, remembered, and returned to his rightful place in the family’s story.

His exclusion had caused pain that echoed down the generations.
