Who is your family, really?

If you’re married and I asked you now, “Who is your family?” what would you say?

Would you point to the people you share your present life with your spouse, your children or would your mind reach back, to your parents, your siblings, your family of origin?

Both are true.

But in the systemic lens of Family Constellations, there’s an important shift that often goes unseen.

When we step into a marriage or committed partnership, a new family system is born.

One that needs space, nourishment, and your full presence to grow strong.

But for many of us, part of our soul remains “married” to our family of origin, often unconsciously.

We stay entangled with a parent who suffered, a sibling who struggled, a dynamic we still feel responsible for.

We keep trying to save someone we love, someone we were never meant to save.

And without realizing it, we keep showing up for our new family with only part of ourselves.

It’s not that love is missing.

It’s that loyalty is split.

And when our inner posture is still turned toward the past, there’s little room left for the present.

If you find yourself in conflict with your spouse, or distant from your children… if you often feel like you don’t fully belong in your own home… or if your partner says, “You’re not really here” it may not be about them.

It may be about where you are still entangled.

This is something we can feel and see clearly in a Family Constellation.

The work gives us a chance not to cut ties, but to place them in their rightful order.

We return to being sons and daughters of our parents.

We take our place as spouses beside our partners.

We stand behind our children.

And love can flow again.

Sometimes it’s not about what we remember, but about what the family could never speak of.

Then, the client chooses representatives from the group - people who will stand in for different family members, or aspects of the system.

These representatives don’t act or imagine.

They simply open themselves to the field, and slowly, something extraordinary begins to happen.

They start to feel emotions, impulses, even thoughts of the person they represent.

It’s as if the family’s soul speaks through them.

And this is where the healing begins.

Through movements, silences, and healing sentences - words that carry truth to the surface - we begin to untangle the knots.

We allow what was excluded to be seen.

We let the past rest in the past, and we help the client find their rightful place in their family system.

Not too high, not too low.

Not carrying what doesn’t belong to them.

Just standing in the truth of their own life.

What happens in a constellation is deeply sacred.

It’s also hard to explain, because it touches the soul in a way the mind can’t fully grasp.

And yet, for many of us, that bond did not feel safe. Or whole. Or reachable.

Sometimes it was broken suddenly by trauma, separation, or loss.

Sometimes it never fully formed, because she was struggling, absent, unavailable, or carrying pain too heavy to process.

Often, we don’t even realize the impact this had… until we begin to trace the patterns that still shape our lives.

We might long for love, but keep love at a distance.

We might overgive, overprove, or overwork, always trying to feel worthy.

We might find ourselves resisting rest, nourishment, help, without knowing why.

We might feel blocked in our creativity or disconnected from abundance, even when we are doing “everything right.”

And underneath it all, there is often a silent loyalty to our mother’s pain.

A quiet “no” to life.

Healing the mother bond doesn’t mean pretending she was different than she was.

It means slowly allowing the frozen movement - the one that reached for her and didn’t find what it needed - to complete.

It means seeing her not only as “Mom,” but as a daughter herself, shaped by her own family of origin.

And if we are ready, it means taking her in just as she is and reclaiming our place in the flow of life.

As Bert Hellinger said “The movement toward the mother is the movement toward life.”

De-abia acum mă simt puternică, știind ca tu ești mereu în spatele meu și că nu am cum să cad.

Și știu că tu mă iubești oricum, dar am să te fac mândră, ai să vezi!

Today is my Name Day ✨

It’s the day we celebrate Archangels Michael and Gabriel.

And I happen to be named Mihaela Gabriela.

Having this name was not the plan… it kinda just happened.

But I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

I’ve always felt that names carry energy and the fact that I carry the names of the two greatest Archangels, the protectors and guides of humanity, feels like a reflection of what my life was always going to be about.

🪽 Archangel Michael holds the masculine energy: strength, protection, and clarity.

He is the guardian of light, the one who cuts through illusion and fear, the one who reminds us of our power and helps us stand in truth.

His presence brings direction when we feel lost, courage when we feel small, and safety when life feels uncertain.

🪽 Archangel Gabriel carries the feminine: intuition, nurturing, and inspiration.

She is the messenger of divine truth, the gentle voice that speaks through our hearts, guiding us toward creation, birth, and expression.

Her energy is soft but powerful, it helps us trust our inner knowing, speak our truth with love, and create from a place of flow rather than force.

For most of my life, I’ve lived more from my Mihaela side, embodying that masculine energy of doing, leading, protecting, and achieving.

But in recent years, I’ve been learning to open more to my Gabriela, to soften into trust, to receive rather than control, to create from inspiration instead of effort.

Today, as I sat in a monastery, gazing at the icon of Archangel Michael, I asked him to help me with the masculine. To take care of the things I no longer need to fight for, so I don’t have to be so masculine myself.

So I can keep opening to my feminine 🤍

And until we can truly take them in exactly as they are we remain half-connected to life itself.

And I don’t mean excusing the harm they might have caused or pretending everything was okay growing up.

It wasn’t. For anyone.

What I mean is acknowledging a simple truth: that without them, we wouldn’t be alive here today.

When we reject our parents, we unconsciously reject the life that came through them.

And then we wonder why we can’t have joy, love, or abundance.

Making peace with our parents doesn’t always mean having a close relationship in the physical world.

It means finding peace inside of us, bowing to the fact that they gave us life, and that this gift was enough.

This inner movement changes everything.

It’s simple, though not always easy.

And that’s why I love Family Constellations so much - because it gives the soul a language to finally say yes to life.

✨ Constellations don’t work when a client is not ready to face the truth that the field reveals.

The work moves us toward what is, not what we wish things were.

If there’s too much resistance to seeing that truth, the constellation can’t unfold.

The energy doesn’t move.

Sometimes, we have to close the constellation, because the client is not yet ready to take the next step.

And that’s okay. The field will never force us. It only meets us where we are.

✨ They don’t work when there’s a refusal to take responsibility.

If someone expects the constellation to fix everything like a spiritual quick-fix, without engaging in their own inner work, they may be disappointed.

This work is not about outsourcing healing.

✨ Constellations also don’t work when a person is still caught in blaming others, especially their parents.

As long as we hold on to resentment, we’re not in the right position to receive the life that was given to us.

✨ Another reason constellations may not work is when a client intellectualizes the process, analyzing every image instead of allowing the field to speak directly to the body and soul.

The work unfolds beyond the mind.

It is not something to be “understood” as much as felt, integrated, and honored.

✨And finally, sometimes the healing simply happens later.

A constellation may seem incomplete or confusing at first but something shifts quietly beneath the surface.

Some clients feel the effects weeks or even months later, when a situation resolves, a relationship softens, or a new insight emerges without warning.

This work moves at the pace of the soul, not the ego.

So if you feel resistance, confusion, or nothing at all after a session, trust your timing.

There is no rush.

The field will only heal what you are ready to see, feel, and receive.

Anything else would be a violation of your free will.

That is the beauty of this work and also its boundary.

When clients bring issues with money into Constellations, what we often see is that the struggle isn’t truly about money.

It’s about what money has come to represent in their family system — love, loyalty, belonging, loss, injustice, and survival.

Money becomes a mirror that reflects much older stories.

Many of us carry unconscious loyalties to our family of origin, especially to parents or grandparents who suffered deeply, lived in scarcity, or associated wealth with danger, guilt, or betrayal.

💔 Relationships

For years, I couldn’t get over a relationship. No matter how much time passed, no matter what I tried, something inside me just wouldn’t let go.

What I discovered through Family Constellations was that it had nothing to do with that person at all.

The “bond” I thought I had with them was really a reflection of my own unhealed relationship with my mom.

💼 Career blocks

I used to feel like no matter what I did, I couldn’t win. Either I couldn’t reach the success I wanted, or when I had it, I couldn’t enjoy it.

Coco is the story of a young boy named Miguel who longs to become a musician—despite his family’s generations-old ban on music.

This conflict sends him on a magical journey into the Land of the Dead during the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), where he meets his ancestors and uncovers the hidden truths of his family history.

Miguel’s journey reflects a core principle of Family Constellations: that unresolved trauma or suppressed truths in a family system can be passed down through generations.

Miguel doesn’t consciously know why music is forbidden—but the ban is rooted in a misunderstood family story.

Like many of us, he carries the emotional consequences of something unspoken or misinterpreted from the past.

In Family Constellations, healing often happens when the true place of each person in the family system is acknowledged and honored.

In Coco, the healing begins when the forgotten ancestor—Héctor—is seen, remembered, and returned to his rightful place in the family’s story.

His exclusion had caused pain that echoed down the generations.

Do I need to share personal information to do a Family Constellation?

This is a question I hear often.

The short answer is no, you don’t need to share every detail of your life to have a powerful constellation.

Family Constellations work on the deeper layers of your system – your lineage, your subconscious patterns, your family’s hidden dynamics – and much of what comes up is beyond what your mind knows anyway.

However, it is helpful to share enough so I can understand what you’re coming with.

For example, what is the issue you want to look at? What keeps repeating in your life? Where do you feel blocked, stuck, or burdened?

I might also ask you a few basic facts about your family history.

This can include:

– Violence
– Extreme poverty
– Mental or physical illness
– Abuse
– Injustice
– War
– Early deaths
– Major grief or loss
– Major guilt or shame

These are often significant events that impact family systems for generations.

And if you don’t know, that’s okay too – because the constellation itself reveals what needs to come to light.

Another thing to keep in mind: Family Constellations can bring up family secrets or feelings and truths that have been hidden for a long time.

Representatives often feel and express what is held unconsciously in the system.

So, if you feel very private about your issue or you’re not comfortable sharing in a group setting, it might be better to choose an individual constellation.

In these one-on-one sessions, we work privately and deeply, giving you a safe space to explore what wants to be healed.

It shows how we carry things that don’t belong to us — fears, emotions, blocks — and how, through this work, we can begin to release what isn’t ours and reconnect with life in a new way.
